Amanda and Dan are in love. There is no doubt. One only has to observe the two of them and listen to “their story” to understand why they are together. Anna and I are extremely happy we were chosen to capture their love. It was an amazing day. It threatened to rain all day and yet the two of them remained focused on what mattered.. them. Even when it did rain they embraced it and had fun. What else can you ask for?

Jessica and Mike are one of the hippest and most fun couples we have been around (ya, we said hippest!) We first met them back in March for dinner in San Francisco… we had an amazing meal, even better conversation and tons of laughs. Their wedding took place at Viansa Winery in Sonoma. Beautiful, right? This wedding was full of chic taste, personal touches and fun surprises. For one, Jessica’s mom handmade tons of details… the ring bearer flag, bridesmaid’s clutches, the flower Jessica wore in her hair, both garters AND get this… the two amazing belts Jessica wore! Seriously, did you see the incredible time and effort put into all of these details?! Everyone at this point is trying to convince her to open an Etsy shop… we’ll keep you posted One of the best moments of the night came after their first dance… Mike being a huge Eddie Vedder fan (music is very important to both of them!) decided he and one of his groomsmen would serenade Jessica with a favorite song of his called “Without You.” It was one of the sweetest things we’ve ever seen! Mad props to Mike for that one, but I am pretty sure every woman went home to their husband or boyfriend that night saying “why haven’t you ever done something like that for me?” But… hands down, the best part of the night was when Jess ICED Mike when he went for the garter. His reaction below is PRICELESS! We had an amazing time and are so happy to have been there! This wedding was one for the books.

From the first moment we got the call from Rachel we knew we would be a good match. We first met Rachel and Kirk in person earlier this year in San Francisco. We had a nice brunch, laughed like crazy and felt like we had known them for years. They are truly some of the nicest most sincere people we have ever met. We walked away from that lunch knowing we had met a very genuine and loving couple. Their wedding day was such a beautiful celebration of their love and we were honored to be a part of it Rachel and Kirk had a lovely wedding in Santa Rosa, California in July. Paradise Ridge Winery with it’s beautiful view was the perfect setting.

We are.. Melissa + Clayton

Melissa and Clayton are so deeply in love you can’t help but smile when you see them. They have a million pet names for each other, every sentence begins or ends with “baby”, and when they are together you get a sense they belong together more than any couple you have ever been around. It was for this reason that Anna and I were absolutely excited for their wedding. There is nothing better when two people have a chemistry such as them and you have the privilege of capturing that love; it is the essence of why we love doing what we do. Melissa looked absolutely STUNNING.. there are no other words. They did not disappoint.

Anna and I really can not extend enough gratitude to this group as well. On another level this was the last of 3 weddings we have shot with this group of friends. I touched on it in each of these weddings but I have to say that it was an absolute pleasure getting to know each and every one of them. We truly consider them all friends and we look forward to seeing them grow their families. They all (including all of their friends!) possess incredible hearts and all of those traits you look for in good people… it is a sad moment but an exciting one as well for us.

It should also be noted that the amazingly talented boys of Shade Tree Films were on board to capture everything on film as well and we are equally excited to see their work. We highly recommend these guys if you are in the business of looking for wedding videography (sorry.. FILM MAKING!). One look at their videos and you will lose an entire day just browsing them infinitely.

And! of course Yasmin of Floral Theory who is honestly THE best florist in the Bay Area. Hands down.

We are.. Alex + Elena (Pt 2)

One of the most beautiful things about Mykonos is the water. The clarity is unreal and the color equally stunning. When Elena and Alex became our Facebook friends I began stalking Elena’s photos of Greece and came upon one that had been taken underwater. That same photo would become the inspiration for this shoot. I asked them if they would be interested in trying something different. I have to admit I was a bit surprised when they were game for it. An experiment to say the least I set out to research underwater enclosures, flippers, masks, and snorkels. I got an extra bonus in that both Alex and Elena are extremely comfortable in the water. In fact.. Elena literally danced all the way down to the water in excitement just to get in. Dress and Pants dawned they jumped right in.

This shoot is unlike any we have done before. First the obvious.. you are carrying a GIANT camera, and you have fins, mask and snorkel on. Add a current, cold temps, and something I had not predicted in my pool trial runs, SALINITY and it makes the job even more difficult. The Mediterranean is so hyper-saline you literally float. You basically have to do what your body tells you not to do.. let out all your air till you start to sink, then start concentrating on composition and then focus and try and nail it before you get swept out to sea. I loved every bit of it. I would be surprised if you see more stuff like this from us… hopefully you love it.
